Uber New Grad Offer

I just finished my internship at Uber and received a full time return offer: 110k base, 2k RSU, no signing bonus. Is this on par with other offers, or am I being low balled?

I was explicitly told by my manager that I performed very well during my internship, which is why I was expecting a better offer. Also my friends at FB and Amazon received much better offers. My recruiter said they give blanket offers to everyone and there’s no room for negotiation. How true is this? Is there a way to negotiate for more rsu?

Are you from some middle-of-nowhere uni? If not, I can’t think of a more giant FU from your manager

40 I think from recent rounds. That's around 80k rsu LOL. They're going to really have to sell the typical recruiter bs that their stock will double when they ipo.

For those who think 80k is a lot, it's $80k rsu over a 4 year period.

Lol to be perfectly honest...other companies (even Microsoft) pay more than this. Very disappointed to see we aren’t paying new grads well...giving others more reasons to see us as a tier 2 company

I was an intern this year and got a better offer, however, most of my other intern friends got this same offer. I had 2 years of work ex before coming for Masters, and they were considerate of that. Acc to me, you aren’t being lowballed and no matter what they say right now, negotiation is never out of question. Get the acceptance deadline to go as far as you can and keep trying for other companies.

Moving to Seattle will only make a 5-7k tax diff per year, work hard and get other offers.

PS: I am offered for a specific team and there is no flexibility in terms of location for me.

This is a decent offer. Get F and G offers and then negotiate.

Congrats on the offer. This is on par with the offers I have seen for grads, you are not lowballed.

If you expect more, you should feel free to shop around elsewhere. Note that once you have a few years of experience and get to the next level, comp typically shoots up, all the way to Sr levels, after which it slows down again. Also, Uber barely hires grads any more, apart from returning interns. FB and Google often follow the same route.

He's not lowballed but it's uncompetitive. If even amazon can pay 160k tc in the bay area, uber needs to be at least around that range, and should actually be more since they haven't ipoed.

Lower than my offer as new grad, non return intern from last season - same base, 2.5k rsu. It seems as the offer has been going down since mid 2017...

On the upside, the target bonus and RSU refresh seems to be quite generous compared to other new grad positions - the bonus is all cash and pretty accurate to the target listed in your letter, but you will prob have to work harder to hit it then faang.

This is for SF. But the recruiter also said that the offer is the same regardless of location
