Uber SWE2

(Using my friend's account for anonymity) Base 140k Equity 6000 RSU over 4 years (~$300k using preferred valuation, 200k 409a valuation) Bonus 14k No signing bonus YoE: 1.5 yr at current company. Prior to that, 2 years SWE but in different industry. Edit: TC is lower than what I'm currently making right now considering 409a valuation, so I feel not much pulling me to Uber in terms of comp. Of course, not sure what is an "avg" performance scaling (0%-200%) percentage. Highly unlikely to be near 200%, I think. Your thoughts?

Looks pretty similar to the swe 2 offer I got

This is really high for Eng1, are you sure it's not Eng2?

My bad. I think I meant swe 2. Swe 1 is for new grad or similar?

Uber rar Apr 26, 2018

Yeah, new grads typically get eng 1 unless if they have a PhD

Is it accurate to calculate using preferred valuation? I thought that’s only for investors and employees are under 409a

Correct. Preferred is not for employees. Preferred has benefits like liquidation preference, anti-dilution, liquidation multiples. The round with SoftBank gives you a sense of appropriate discount.

Good point to bring up. Using 409a valuation brings equity to 200k/4 yrs

Looks good as this is what they offer at this level.

I think it is good
