Uber’s new cultural norms put forth by the new CEO are a good start. Curious if working at Uber has improved and foundational change has taken root in terms of conflict and “toe-stepping,” or if after some efforts to improve, change has stalled or even reverted. Thoughts from Uber employees?
It was never THAT bad as the press makes it out to be. Def some bad apples, and they’ve all been purged. And sure there could be groups with bad culture, but you can easily change teams once you’re here for 6-12 months. I’ve worked at many major companies. Uber is a fantastic place to work and the problems were tackling are world changing.
Please - I was in uber and I can say how bad it was - I was so happy the day I was leaving - so don’t try to paint a good picture - remember inclusivity is important - if you feel you were included - then you are part of those who did discrimination .
And the easily change teams is again a lie - I personally was told on day 1 from my manager that you cannot change - despite I hated - random reorgs , random team assignments - nobody cared about what you liked - uber first was fed into everyone and it felt like you are salves working for uber valuation not for world changing problems. Even lyft is doing the same thing - maybe better.

Most the leadership has changed. The CEO has been busy cleaning out all the skeletons left around by the previous leadership. In terms of culture, it’s much less agressive and people work less on average.
Nah still not cleaned - I know some who are still there who were the culture bearers of uber and growing in ranks - and they were the worst.
What about those who were pushed out because they raised their voice against the aggressive culture ???? Nobody reached out to apologize to them.
