Uber culture in non-engineering groups
Contemplating joining Uber in a senior Business/Marketing role. What is the culture like there? Read in the news it wasn’t always the greatest but they are making changes. Has there been notable improvements about the culture lately? Especially for non tech people, is that different from engineers, or females versus males?
It’s not bad. But you’ll be doing 5 people’s work as they’re steadily understaffed. Plus non-tech pay sucks so bad
What’s average comp for non-engineer with 10 YOE?
Can confirm, my non-eng friends always complaining about the pay cuts they took to join. Same is true for eng. Equity grants should make up for it. I'd say assume $40-$80 per share to compare TC, 5th and 95th percentile range. $60-$70 25th and 75th percentiles. Dara's goal where he gets a big payout is around $71 per share.
