I used Uber and left an item behind. The driver immediately saw that I left it, so he shouted at me that I left the item when I moved a few steps away, and he walked out of the car to give it back to me. The whole thing took less than 10 seconds, and he hadn’t even left the spot yet at that point. The next day, i got an email from Uber that I got charged for $15 lost item return fee. I tried to appeal, but they responded with some kind of generic response that I’m not even sure if it’s automatic or not that any time off from road is a costly experience for a driver. Do you think this is a reasonable charge? :( Have you had any experience arguing about this kind of fee in Uber?
Just one star him. Don’t waste your time over 15 bucks
Are you wasting several hours for just $15? You could get even more in return by spending the same amount of time driving Uber
Indeed. I don’t understand when people spend more time on trivial amount of money.
Not about money. It’s about getting cheated on. You gonna let a scum steal your money?
Wow on the second appeal, Uber decided to refund the money. Phew, thanks for the support!
I wouldn’t sweat it over 15 bucks. Your wasted time is called loss of opportunity.
What kind of more lucrative action can you do on the toilet instead of writing an email to Uber ?
Pooping is the best time to leetcode
Fair enough
Just puke in any Uber vehicle on your next ride.
When I'm doing POOL Uber charges me all the time for the other persons trip fare and not mine.
This can't be true
Keep appealing until you get a human. The first two responses are always canned auto messages lol

No, this seems unreasonable. Lost item fee is when he needs to drive somewhere to return the item to you or something. Appeal the issue. Keep complaining till you get what you want.
👍👍👍
Best is to dispute with your credit card customer service. Uber didn't do crap until I did that for my issue(technical glitch on their part for a promotional offer that was clearly outlined on their own blog) even after appeal.
