Lol they probably pay to Uber you home

    • That would be a sad scene. A bunch of Uber employees lined up with boxes outside the office waiting for an Uber ride to take them home.

No wonder they are going down. Just yesterday I tried to use Uber after a long time. To my surprise it no longer changes credit card directly. You have to first “fund” their account with some amount and only then you can request a ride. I mean WTF!?
I installed Lyft and worked without such annoyance.

Please check your code base, there is Add Fund option. I am not sure if it is country specific.

  • Not surprised given Uber's profitability issues. Never work for a company that doesn't make money.

Using this logic, you would have rejected all fang during the best period to join them.

@appledd, never mind, I think his opinion holds true in certain ways.

I am joining apple in a month! So cheers!

That just means they'll stop hiring people, not that they'll lay existing employees off

    • Facebook MYKt61
At least for eng, FB doesn't need to layoff because of their "evergreen approach" (move fast, reorg, pivot, PSC, uzw.). If there was a sudden growth slowdown areas like recruiting, ops, would see large layoffs for sure.

Naw op, learn the game when growth slows you just pull a tim cook and change the definition of growth. Once iphone sales slow you stop reporting em :)

some will be absorbed by freight. but freight itself cant suddenly double in size without becoming too inefficient or redundant.

I can’t even use Uber since I used a credit card for it and didn’t pay the invoice on time or something. I started using Lyft. They really should’ve kept TK
