Got an offer for Uber, currently at Twitter Senior 175k + 600k RSU Twitter 210k TC Did not negotiate with Twitter at all but I am a top performer and received large bonuses. Told manager I wanted to be earning about 300k but feels like such a large jump. I want to do things right this time around and negotiate and get what I deserve so I’m not constantly second guessing my comp. Uber at least values me properly?

How do I go about getting a competing offer from Twitter? I feel like it’s bad faith to out right say I have an offer from Uber. How do I prevent a scenario where they hear I have an offer and terminate me? Seems very risky. Twitter raises about 7% a year, with a 5% base bonus target. Some stock for high performers, my current TC includes a large recent stock bonus I received that almost doubled my equity comp
So you’re suggesting I resign without a job lined up, burn my bridge and hope they ask me and offer a counter offer? That seems reckless, if the Uber offer falls through I just lost a job I enjoy a lot. I know I’m being low balled but I also feel like I didn’t negotiate and wonder if It’s hopeless to negotiate now or if it’s possible to do in a safe, professional way.

Geez. Uber offers have really decreased since the summer...had an offer for sde2 with similar equity, but 160k base. You should get more offers.

You join company with optimism. Besides I don't think RSUs as real compensation it's just cream on cup of milk. Real value what you are given as bonus + fixed income. Company can alps go bust immediately after hiring like Lehman bros but we like to be positive
