(Posting this for a friend) Educational and professional summary: - Bachelors degree in engineering, major computer science - 3 years work ex at Amdocs - MBA in Marketing - Engagement Manager at McKinsey, working here since 5.5 years Expected comp for operations and logistics manager position at Uber? Whats the recommended level to join at? Appreciate any insights
Would suggest look at S&P manager role or SR Ops Mgr with that background.
No roles in Seattle for these roles that will pay more than 100k
Is it worth joining uber with a 70-80K annual cut? Of course with McKinsey, there are no stocks and no option to even buy other company stocks coz almost every company is a client.
Has your friend considered Product Management?
Seattle is a tech office with no business jobs that have a career path or pay well
Your friend is an EM at McKinsey and he is considering such a low level position? Yikes.
Dint know what level it is and expected comp, thanks for the feedback

sr ops manager at best L4, but you might be able to find a strategy & planning manager role (L5) with that background. or a role as a manager in regional ops (could be L5) TC depends on market. which city?
Seattle. we just moved to Seattle from NYC 6 months ago, so not looking to move again. The HR initially did suggest regional ops but that position is only available in SFO
What’s the best time to negotiate the appropriate level? The final on-site interview is a week out and HR has been going deep into comp discussions and expectation.
