Uber sde or Salesforce senior software engineer
Hello all,
I recently got job offers from Uber as sde and senior software engineer at Salesforce, the job location for Uber is Pal Alto and the team is really good, same with Salesforce and job location is Seattle. Base salary of Salesforce is more compared to Uber ( 40k difference ). Should I even consider Uber, I know it is ranked above Salesforce but given that I have been offered senior at Salesforce. Just curious. Any Thoughts?
Uber : Bass: 135000, 3752 RSU( 25% will vest on year end and then monthly), 35000( joining bonus) , 1100( target cash bonus it can double based on performance) , 26250 ( target equity refresh it can double based on performance), relocation
Salesforce: bass: 175000, 135000 RSU ( 33% will vest on first year end) , 25000 joining bonus . 10-12% year end bonus .

Complexity of problems and growth opportunities will depend on product and team you end up with and your own ability to recognize opportunity in front of you and act on it.
Remember, Salesforce has tons of different products so there is an option to transfer internally if you not happy with current situation.
In addition, what’s their growth opportunities, what else Uber plans to do?
Salesforce is also doing very well and will keep growing.
SF has a better culture but Uber will pay more.
* Washington has no income tax, California’s is nearly 10%.
* Palo Alto is going to be super expensive compared to Seattle. When I moved from Seattle 6 years ago I needed to make 180% of what I was making in Seattle to justify the move.
There is no guaranteed refresher for RSUs at Salesforce which is a bummer, and the Uber ipo could be amazing. But I’d take a look at quality of life and use that as a measuring stick.
What group in Salesforce if you don’t mind me asking?
Btw 2x bonus is bs. No one gets that anymore
