Uber vs Airbnb vs Google Cloud
Have been fortunate to have received offers from all of these. Curious what blinders think of these and where you'd go. Offer numbers (approx) for L4 (3.5 yoe) with no negotiation done yet. base/equity/signon bonus 1) U - 165, 375,50 2) A - 170, 367, 15 3) G - 145, 340, 20 Edit: can you also share why you choose an option? I'm unsure why somebody would choose Airbnb over Uber or Google. Note: numbers shared to avoid tc or GTFO, but just curious what is a better place to go to work. I'm sure U and A will generally match each other

Uber and Airbnb numbers look like l5 numbers. no? Uber offer looks great. I feel the stock is undervalued. IMO Airbnb has easier technical problems to solve and might be less interesting in terms of work GCP : If you find a great team, then perfect. Otherwise it might be nothing more than moving protobufs and writing design docs for trivial things

teams in gcp. Factors to consider - Ask about attrition and promo rates in the team. - Think for yourself on whether the problem is technical or organizational. Ask the manager about examples of people that got promoted to l5 and what work they did ? They got promoted by doing something cool ? Or by pushing people from 5 teams to do some work for them. - Ask about team growth and whether the manager is looking for new managers under him. I feel new managers suck (2 data points) - Ask about team culture. May be meet them over lunch
G and U seem really good. I wouldn't go with A because I don't feel it being a stable company (not much of future). But just out of curiosity, what were the level of LC questions in the interviews with G and U?
I feel that A is the most exciting from the future prospects standpoint. U was easy to medium. G was medium. A was upper medium to hard

Airbnb would probably be top of my list based on TC and wlb and future. GCP is tough place and rough culture. Uber... too volatile and you simply have better options.

I got offered more from Amazon and Google for 2.7 yoe. Didn't even apply for FB and Uber... Definitely don't join Uber unless you are planning to stay only for 4 years, it might survive until then... Airbnb was always my no. 1 choice because I heard they offer 300k for L4 (looks like you were low balled), I failed the behavioural there :( Also your numbers look like they are for Seattle. Is that right?
Nope, these are SF numbers. For sure, Airbnb offers that much but this is without negotiation Can you share your offers?
G can match/beat U offer. I had a similar U offer but G offer was 160/380/50. 4.5 yoe.
