Uber is so widely used that such rare situation will occur more. Sadden by the news but Uber can’t be blamed here

Amazon Zorg (;,;) Feb 19, 2018

How? They hire they drivers

Apple chipotlefa Feb 19, 2018

Why Uber, why not the Honda car he was driving or the Shell gas he was using.

This is the fundamental problem with shared economy, you can never guarantee anything about the attributes of people you are sharing things with.

Uber doesn't kill people. People kill people.

That was the intent.

It’s Uber, what do you expect. They probably have an algorithm to match unsatisfied customers with known violent offenders. 🍆

Amazon 🤺22 Feb 19, 2018

That means I should be careful when rating Uber rides? 😂👻

Remember exactly what you’re doing here. You’re paying for a complete stranger to deliver your food to your own home. And they’re not even employees of the company. Any sick creeper can do this job. Do what I do. Learn how to cook.

Uber selena Feb 19, 2018

Any delivery food has similar issue, also you're interesting with stranger all the time in life, it's hard to avoid it, how do you get your food? Stranger delivery or you go meet stranger while shopping?

Apple Ternary ? Feb 19, 2018

The very relevant difference is a pizza delivery guy is an actual employee of the company. That puts the company on the hook liability wise, which means they will be pretty mindful of who they hire. Of course its never fool proof. I don’t worry about strangers when I go shopping, but food being delivered to my house, and I have to open the door and pay the dude is a different matter. Especially when I have little ones in the house. Amazon fresh is a little different. Zero human interaction there. I just think people need to be a bit more aware of risks of this gig economy. Don’t need to radically change your behavior, but understand the risks you’re bringing to yourself. Lots of creepy people out there.

Just more evidence the US has a gun sickness, and the right wing politicians take money to do nothing about it. I’m sure he would have just run the guy down with his car if he wasn’t armed /s

this is just sad
