Udacity engineering offer
Waiting for a written offer from Udacity. Recruiter told me there is no bonus at Udacity. Is this true? He said there was a bonus this year but company was looking to change current bonus model so he cannot share any information about it. Can people from Udacity give me some details about this?
true - there isn't a guaranteed year end bonus.
What was bonus structure for this year? Are people @ udacity okay with no bonuses?
No guaranteed bonus but you get equity. So negotiate with that in mind. There was a one-time bonus this year when the company hit a key milestone, and in my experience, there have also been small unexpected spot bonuses. The company has been great at exceeding expectations.
It's true that there is no company-wide bonus plan/structure at Udacity. There are discretionary bonuses you can get from your manager and also through peers, though.
What do you mean by through peers? Could you elaborate?
Peer nominated bonuses with cash associated. It comes with public recognition from CEO/Founder.
Cant say much about bonuses but it is definitely the best company that I've worked for so far
