I'm new to Salesforce and I gotta say, everything has impressed me so far EXCEPT the actual office space. I hate it, the floors look like call centers, and they are Gung-Ho about unassigned seating, meaning nobody has a dedicated desk. So you can't personalise your own space, your desk has to be clear when you leave so the cleaning crew can wipe it down overnight. Do employees there really like this? It feels so dead..
Wow, insane if true.
I interviewed there and declined the offer because I disliked the idea so much. I travel light anyway but at least during cold and flu season, I don’t have that added worry of a shared table top.
Their rationale is actually that having the desks clear and clean "like new" every day helps maintain a healthy environment especially during flu season
It's called "ohana seating". Engineering is exempted from it.
Must be new, as I interviewed about 3 months ago, I am an engineer, and I was told that’s how seating would be
Do you nevertheless still clear your desk at the end if the day?
Some of our areas are moving to this. And no, we don't like it.
So much first world problems among the tech bros? What next? The toilet papers are not scented? Gosh you are working at Salesforce! Stop cribbing like teenage school girls...
I am sorry for being a human and having any kind of desire apart from food, water etc.
How dare you be a peasant with standards.
Yeah I have an assigned desk but I’m in engineering, if they do allow Obama seating that would be really dumb. Would make finding seating to be near my team pretty tough lol
Wow that’s an awesome idea. I hate sitting near my teammates so this is a perfect excuse to be far away from them
Becky knows.
If I wanted unassigned seating, I’d go sit at Starbucks.
That just sounds disconcerting
WTF? First time hearing this
