Quite disappointed to see that most of us Indian immigrants (not the kids born and raised in the US) act in a very nepotistic, and high handed manner at work and then blame India for its corruption. Aren’t you the same as the corrupt people you complain about in India? The only difference, you enjoy the luxuries of the US but are as corrupt as the bureaucrats and politicians of India you complain about.
I have seen this in big company like Microsoft. I remember early 2008 and 2009 when there were few Indian managers and leaders then things changed we were expecting Indian friends to defend diversity but unfortunately many appreciate loyalty more. Even my some Indian friends suffer because they are not from South India.
So sad, the state of affairs today. Most tech companies in the Bay Area reek of this. And yes, I also noticed this South India cliques. Interestingly, the south has many regions and they are different people. But yeah, these people believe in that typical divide; Us vs Them. South vs North. I am from the North. And I did see that a decent number form these South groups. Not all are like that. But significant enough. Sadly, others (non South Indians) who are on visa are too scared to say anything.
I agree my friend. I propose to deport all Indian nationals to get the problem solved
A large number, not all 😎
Ya happens in all large companies, Cisco is probably the worst?
Sad State. Pledge to change! ✊🏽
That's true of any person. Look at all companies, people who are close to founder are at high positions regardless of how competent they are
You are correct with one exception. Indians are systematically block others from being hired and promoted. This is different than simply hiring your friends and families. By the way the fact that everyone is doing it doesn’t make it right.
So true, @Khiar. I have noticed this. Intentionally preventing people from learning and growing. My Indian manager at Walmart did that on numerous occasions.
This is what first generation immigration looks like. Irish used to only hire Irish, Italians, English, Germans the same. Fast forward 100 years and they'll be just be Americans.
Hopefully we would have a fact based conversation ( not racial slurs). My own experience and observation in SV is also confirming a widespread Indian nepotism in hiring and promotion. We hear this a lot these days “Indians only hire Indians”.
My friend, I am totally posting this based on my experience. Not out of thin air, my friend. I am seeing this nepotism at an unbelievable level. We Indians hire those who will benefit us personally and the company comes second (or maybe even lower). The people we like are given whatever salaries, levels, promotions. No questions asked. It is just obscene.
Look at Satya and who he has hired. Look at Sunder and who he has hired. Look at Indra and who she has hired.
