My niece got admit in general science for Bachelor's program in university of Washington. However, she is interested in comp science. How likely is to convert to comp science from general science in 2nd year? Any advice or pointers?
- Facebook public2Congrats, she will need to apply. UW CS is super competitive but not impossible.

- Very unlikely. Direct admission policy changed this year and most kids admitted directly, very few spots left for later admissions. Same for informatics major IIRC.
ACMS major might be an option but it is also very competitive and very math heavy.
A lot of kids end up doing some other major (math or physics) or transferring out to less popular school (Oregon State, WSU, and WWU are popular choices)
