I am planning to buy an used Mercedes GLC 300 as my first car in US. Its coming out to be 42k (has options so the original price was 50k) I am mostly interested to use this car for weekends. I was looking for AWD mainly which can support occasional trips to ski resorts in winter.

I am wondering if its a fun car to drive or not? What do you think about the car?

They feel super cheap on the inside. I’d go for an X3 or XC60 before the GLC. If you’re going for merc, the GLE is more premium.

Personally, I went for the XC90. Different class of vehicle but should be in the same price point.

I need to have what you're smoking. Merc interiors are better than the competition. The interiors is the main reason you buy a non amg Merc in the first place. What exactly did you find cheap? The only potential off-putting thing I can think of is the floating infotainment screen.

@dhshbfukfn you can’t feel from a picture. It’s not the look of things. Mercedes have less tactile plastics that make them feel “cheap”. Also, the doors feel light, and the car doesn’t feel as grounded as BMWs. It’s the feel of it, not the look that we talk about.

Well I was talking about the feel of the interiors nothing related to driving dynamics. I have never heard merc interiors being cheap anywhere. I've also loaned one. And have one. I've driven the BMW too. I just am super curious which part felt cheap. I think he's probably comparing the base Merc piano black plastic to upgraded bimmer.

To each their own. It’s good from a distance or an internet pic but not great in person. It’s full of hard touch plastics, none of the chrome on the dash is metal, it’s the chrome plastic one would expect in a Toyota and that screen dash makes it look like a Mazda. I dare say a CX-9 is better executed. Compare this to the X3 or the XC60. The problem with the GLC is that it’s simply dated. Take a look at the new A class to see where merc is going with their interiors.

@dhshbfukfn do you own a GLC? Maybe it's time to spring for that AMG GLE or GLS. 😂

That’s a lot of money for a “used” car with value that will go down by a lot if you’re the 2nd owner

What do you think of a brand new Crosstrek then? May I know what do you drive?

A crosstrek is a completely different price range so it’s not comparable.

      I drive a Model 3

You could also look into leasing or subscribing actually. A car is a depreciating asset and unless you wanna keep it for a while, might make sense to do something short term. Varies based on personal situation obviously

But where is the status that comes from OWNING a Mercedes? haha

      Not from a GLC 300

Lol, no one cares if you own. If it is at all abt what others think, they will think what they have to think as long as you drive a Mercedes
