I am being offered PLM role at VMware Palo Alto office. $163k base, $75k stocks over 4 years, 12% yearly target performance cash bonus. Joining bonus of $20k. I have 8 years of work experience. Currently a Senior PM at Microsoft (Redmond Washington) and my current total comp including base, yearly stocks and cash bonus is $200k+. So wondering if VMware is offering low to negotiate up later or that's the range for PLM role at VMware. Update: after negotiations Base: $180k Joining stocks: :$125k over 4 years Yearly bonus: 17% Sign on and relocation: $33k Altogether yearly total comp is coming about $240k. I live in Redmond and make little over $200k so moving to California did not make sense so rejected the offer.
PLM? Product Lifecycle Management? Sounds like a non-aggressive change to me, plus the offer is a bit low
Product Line Manager
Wow. Excellent offer.
75k stocks or $75k worth stocks?
Your bonus is for a mid level tier employee. I’m assuming you’re being recruited at P3 which is mid level.
MTS1 - 3 is mid tier? Bonus is 12% until sr mts in R&D
You wanna double your cost of living and move to a company exhaling it's second to last breath? Not sure how high the offer would have to be to consider this a wise move tbh
Uh. Are you saying Seattle is double to SF? Lol. And VMware is hardly in that position

Any particular reason you moving to VMware?
Role and opportunity was good but pay is close to half of what I was expecting 😊
