Visa Renewal Dropbox location - Consulate (Hyderabad) vs Virtual Consulate (Bangalore)
I’m renewing my H1B and eligible for dropbox. I’m in Bangalore and will be back in 3 weeks. I’m yet to renew my visa. Is it any better to drop off the application in Consulate like Hyderabad vs Virtual Consulate like Bangalore? I imagine Bangalore applications will be sent to Chennai and wondering if that will cause additional delays. Appreciate if any one has experienced this or know information from their acquaintances. Thanks!

Its exactly taking 1 week from Bangalore. 2 of my friends did it this month in Bangalore.
Don’t do Dropbox. I’ve heard it’s taking more than 3 weeks. You’ll be stuck with no options. “Administrative Processing” is a catch all they use for ANY delay. No explanation. No window into what’s happening. And you can do nothing. Don’t do Dropbox if you have limited time - which most people do when traveling back.
What option is there if I don't do Dropbox? Can i get stamped at same consulate as last time and bypass Dropbox and go for in person interview?
Auto desk below says it’s taking 1 week. I’ll admit I don’t know as much about Hyderabad/Bangalore specifically. So you might want to take a chance. For what you asked - of course. That’s what I meant. Just go for the interview.
