I am a Canadian student graduating around May 2019 and am looking for Software Engineering jobs in the Seattle, Washington area (I have family there). Other than Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, Google, are there any companies that would sponsor me for a work visa? Thanks!
Cant Canadians do TN and avoid the H1B crazyness?
Yup! But don't some companies still not want to sponsor a TN? I'm not too familiar tbh... do you know any others that would?
Yup. Some companies aren’t willing to sponsor TN visa, even though it’s easier than the H1B route. It still costs companies a few thousands of dollars to put together the TN visa package for you, so ultimately it really depends on whether the employer is willing to shell out that money or not. Most of my engineering friends had no problem getting their TN or H1B though.
Can't you get a GC via family?.
If you’re a Waterloo grad with software engineering as your specialist/major you could pretty much do the TN app yourself. The school should have pretty good resources itself given the amount of people who do it. Of course you would have some research yourself etc.
Not a Waterloo grad unfortunately :/ Are you aware of any medium/large companies hiring in the Seattle area if I were to be able to take care of most of it myself?
Maybe look into Zillow? They were willing to sponsor TN for my friend’s sister.
HBO might have some new grad Openings. Message me and I can check.
