Oof. Low. Visual designer graduates not UI from my top 20 college (2013) were getting 40k a year. Freelance you generally want to double it so $40 an hour.
From what Iโve seen TC for visual (non tech more marketing/ad roles) ranged from $35k to start to 100k. Then higher for creative director etc.
If it was tech and youโre doing UI/production roles I can see 80k-100k starting.
I lot of visual non tech designers are using photoshop, illustrator, indesign. Tech visual designers sketch or photoshop generally.

70k salary, ~2 years experience in After Effects. Fully remote in Western US.
