Background check company asking for W2 of every previous job, is this even California legal? I understand that HR might not be easily reachable externally but this sounds really excessive
Yeah, this is annoying, but if you don’t expect any red flags dont worry about giving your W2.
Ask them if they take any other forms of employment proof? Many companies have work numberand that can work instead of w2
Simple employment history search will provide all they need. Prev w2 is way to excessive!
I had to provide w2 and proof that I was self employed to fill a gap.
Employers can't ask for previous salary (at least in California).. asking for w2 is indirectly asking for that information. Black out all the numbers from w2 and send it
