WFH no more
I just signed with Apple to move from LA to Cupertino. I am currently working from home but shitty manager is forcing me to leave. So now my TC went up by 25% but I’m freaking out and having panic attacks. Have not worked in an office for 5 years now and am so used to wfh lifestyle. Can someone please help calm my mind down and assure me Apple will be great? I’ll be joining the is&s org. Also my wife and kids won’t move up north initially — and could take months and months, all the meanwhile I’ll be living alone. Ohhh god what have I done!! Any and all support is truly welcome 🙏 Thanks a bunch, blinders.

I just did the same. Worked from home past 7 years and just started at amazon. I love it so far

I was overseas for over a year during my military career from my family. You gotta do what's best for the long run. You will be fine. You can contact via Skype/phone and have work to keep your mind right. Exercise, go out with coworkers, explore the new area etc.
First, let me shake your hand for your military service and say thank you :) And second thanks for the solid advice. Getting into Apple (and in a good org) is s good strategic move. Like you said, one must sacrifice for the long term gain. You sound like a solid dude, so you live in the Bay Area?

Living alone means going into the office is a good move, you'll meet new people and get integrated into the area faster. WFH in an empty house drains your sanity.
