WLB at Lab126

I was recently approached by a recruiter for Lab126. What is life like at Lab126? Is it similar to startups with 60+ hour work weeks in a mad rush to deliver a MVP or die? How does it compare to working elsewhere at Amazon?

Could be start up culture, but will not be start up wages or risks 😉

40-50 hour weeks, some WFH. Before product launch, hours can be rougher. A lot depends on manager, as always.

I work at Lab126, Sunnyvale. Oncall stress depends on time of year and team. Mine isn’t too bad, a couple sev 2s in the last year. Tech stack will also depend on team, but I don’t love the number of OSes we’re currently juggling. There is an effort to merge them, but it’s slow and won’t solve most of the issues. What team are you looking at?

There is no on call depending on the team, most device teams don’t have on-call. I’ve never been on one

WLB is fine, before product launch it gets a little crazy but that is expected anywhere who are serious about shipping products. Avoid FireOS organization at all cost, other orgs are fine.

I have a friend working there. As per him, it’s a shit tier company. You can make more money elsewhere with a better compensation.

How much is your friend making? Most people I know are clearing 400+ for this and next year.
