They won’t give you anything for free, not even water. Reykjavik airport does not have any good food choices, so you need to load up on snacks before you board. The seats are pretty thin and quite uncomfortable. Flight attendant won’t talk to you unless you are buying something. But hey, it is very very cheap.
I thought the airport at Reykjavik had enough food choices. The rest is true. Even if you pay for a meal on board, it’s probably still cheaper than other airlines. The flights tend to be late to some degree
There is a catch. You have to pay extra for baggage. Also, leg space is less than other flights. So make sure you add the baggage price when buying ticket.
Great for light travellers (backpack only). Super cheap. Flight to Iceland really roomy in the seats similar to JetBlue or Alaska/Virgin, I can lay flat on it, plenty of leg room (5'8"). The seats from Iceland to destination are smaller, like United Airlines small.
They upcharge for everything. Pack plenty of snacks and water bottles. Iceland airport has great water, next to bathroom area. Watch out for shorter than 1hr layover, there are lines to check passport so you maybe running through it to make connection.
If the connection is with wow, I saw them hold the plane. Not sure if they always do this. Their model seems to be that all planes land in Iceland at noon and take off an hour later. Every connection is through Iceland.
Highly recommend it. Travel light, pack snacks, and enjoy a trip to Europe 50% cheaper than anything else. I got a same day one way flight from sfo to Paris for $250. Imagine if I bought ahead of time
If you add back all the "privileges" you're used to the price is the same as ordinary airlines. but if you take nothing (no carry on no check in) and skip the meal and settle for a standard (narrow) seat, it's really cheap.
My complaint with them was when our flight got delayed they acted like chickens with their head cut off and no one knew anything. It was delayed two hours....but they didn't give us an update till an hour and 50 minutes that the plane was almost ready.
Its not bad, but as others mentioned it’s a no frills airline and charge for everything. Food options are decent at Rey but expect to pay double to triple the normal cost of airport food.
