I live outside the US. Got contacted by a FB recruiter, did a screening, went well. Did two 45min interviews with a portfolio review and app critique and now I’m waiting for them to get back to me. How long should this take? What are the next steps if they approve me? What does an offer for a product designer from broad includes? Thanks! EDIT: I got a rejection response from the recruiter today.
You are outside US... hmm. What’s their strategy regarding the visa if you are hired? H1B lottery for this year is done. L1 needs you to be hired by the local office. O1 is... well it’s complicated.
I have no idea! Seems like a long shot in that way, but it is my dream job so i’ll try to be an optimist till the last minute 🤷🏻♂️
Good luck!
Thank you!
Have you followed up with your recruiter? How many times? Email them every other business day until they respond
Interview was on tuesday so i figured i’ll wait till monday to check with her, didn’t want to be too pushy
It’s okay to be a little pushy. Monday is fine. If you don’t hear by then, following up Wednesday and again Friday would also be acceptable. Recruiters are busy, but not responding is also rude. Being considerate of what else you may have going on is also rude.

The recruiters are painfully slow. Could be weeks before you hear if you make it to the 2nd round. Also the recruiter should have told you what next steps are. You do a panel portfolio review, another app crit, and a whiteboarding session.
Thanks! Are those next steps all on site? Do they fly me there? I didn’t even got to know for which office the role is 😅
You don’t know because design interviews as a good fit for the company as a whole not for a specific team or product. I don’t know about the flying out; that might be on a case-by-case basis.
