Waiting on H1B result

I am working from 2015 as an FTE for American startup company. Due to the lottery, my application didn't get picked up in 2016, 2017 and 2018. However, 2018 is my last attempt; even though I don't like to apply for multiple applications, my dreams forced me to apply for another H1B application from another company (established in the USA in 1997). As a result, my application was picked from another company where they don't have projects. My current company is ready to transfer my H1B once it gets approved. And my OPT will be expired by December 2018. So many permutations and combinations. In the USA, its all luck and fate. In INDIA lottery is banned and in the USA, life itself is a lottery.

You are absolutely right. However, it has a good name and also it is not an H1B dependent company. So hoping for the best. But I'm in dilemma too.

If you don’t like lotteries, consider moving to Canada

Prople like you and these indian consultancy companies have made a fool of the h1b system.

Apple Lionel! Jun 27, 2018

It is entitled people like you that blame the candidate instead of the stupid US govt policy preventing a masters degree holder from getting a visa after spending a ton of money on education and paying taxes

Intuit vnOE40 Jun 27, 2018

Didn’t the op say in their visa interview that they will go back after MS. Just go back if you don’t get visa.

Eigen hprem Jun 27, 2018

H1b lottery itself is a fool.. The best way to stop misusing H1b is to not allow foreign companies to apply for it. If consulting companies stops applying.. Things will straighten up

Have you considered EB-5 as an alternative to H-1B? It’s much more fair process with a more certain outcome. There is a webinar today that might be informative: https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/6598564393306278146

H1b is already fucked. Don’t fuck EB-5 now. Please

Hope Trump throws your consulting ass out of this country.

Also throw out these people who submit multiple applications.

I fail to understand this obsession with the US. Are you from a downright poor war-torn country where you had no food to eat/no water to drink/no roads, that you preferred to get into a legal mess and be tense all the time than just pack your bags and preparing to leave? When you interviewed for visa before MS, you struggled hard to prove every intent coming back. You got your property registration ready, showed your family is here etc, and left no stone unturned to prove legality and intention to return. Now you left no stone unturned to stay in the US. Weird. Why not be happy about exploring a different culture, getting a good education, and go back happily to your family back home if things didn't go smooth? There are good jobs waiting for you there.

I would explain to you.. Most folks who makes that move are not here for culture or education.. For Indian, the major reason is money. Tomorrow if you lower the IT wage to say minimum wage and the exchange rate below par label. You would see majority of Indian targetting some other country. For chinese the obsession comes from English language and western world. So see the hidden agenda for each of these people are not what you might have thought.. They wont go back unless the got what they want
