There are plenty of places where as an ic you don't see much stupid politics. I suspect they pay much less though.
E-commerce that uses react native and node js. But they are framework users, they aren't framework engineers like Facebook. And compensation is lower too.

Hapi isn’t comparable to react or react native. It’s a shitty layer on top of express.

@OP, since you already have offer you probably know the pay. Here's a quick guide to verify if you were lowballed. These are more or less Average numbers. Joining bonus 40-70K. Level(base/bonus/annual RSUs) = X4(160K/15%/40K), X5(185K/20%/60K), X6(200K/25%/90K). Wlb is very relaxed, cool fun loving colleagues, and depending on the team you join the work will vary from boring to super cool. I will not deny that there's politics, but that's mostly at X7 and higher levels. Your X7 will shield you from everything mostly. Plus, if you are a rockstar engineer, it's easy to make an impression here. I have seen people who actually perform get promoted every 2 years like clockwork.
