How have things been at WL, heard they have introduced Bell curve and force PIPs this year onwards, have people been asked to go or is it just an experiment?
those two practices being present at all should steer you far, far away from any employer that uses them
Not every company does this, it creates a very toxic culture after a couple of years. Does Jet let people go or do they just loose the bonus?
Lucky ones get their bonus and RSU grant reduced or wiped completely. It become impractical to stay at Jet for another year. Usually, PIP can be a natural continuation of a bad rating given. If a bad rating given for political reasons (example: did not kiss someone's ass when requested), such "bad" performers are not even given PIP, because there is nothing to improve upon (I hope WMT will finally get a class action on this scenario).
So do they fire you on two continuous PIPs or you can stay back and improve?
I don't know exactly how this bell curve fitting works, but when you have all rockstar engineers in your team, and you are forced to rate someone poorly just because of the curve, that's when it becomes sad. If it ever happens to anyone who takes pride in their abilities, it's best to prepare hard and leave Walmart.

11 offers to laid off[UPDATE]: 5 offers
Why are you thinking of making a jump from MSFT to WMT?
I work for MSIT and my team might go for re-org. Looking for better work and don't want to be a part of layoff.
Ok . Fair . Makes sense .
