I feel really bad for the employees, while the co-founder walks away with Billion+. Let's use this post to help them and refer them at our companies, you will get your referral bonus as well.... Tagged Uber because of latest layoffs and Amazon just that this post reaches more people.
How is this post going to help them?
Compass is hiring... 🙃
Not for long ... they’re also a SoftBank company.
Autodesk was making a joke
Amazon is hiring... but please negotiate hard to compensate for no refreshers.
What does ‘no refreshers’ mean ?
It means no refreshers applied for years 1-4 under normal market conditions. Check out this post! "How “refreshers” work at Amazon (Compensation)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/pVJmPiL4
Well one guy I knew of left Amazon for WeWork, acting arrogantly. Now we don’t want him back.
I know at least one person from Amazon that I’d send back
We offer free returns for products. Not arrogant employees. Keep for yourself. He was acting like he was going to become a millionaire all of a sudden and look down upon us. Well, he did not see this IPO shithole coming, did he?
But how many of those 4K were in on the scam and bleeding the PE dry ?
What does that even mean?
The biz dev / sales team likely were - at least leadership - having clients sign to move into office space at steep losses to We , then offering them free moves to the latest space a few blocks over , so they can put out PR saying it’s quickly being filled with customers
Let Softbank help them like they did AN
As a WeWork employee I wholeheartedly disagree that we should have known the extent of the shenanigans or “been in on the scam”. Most people I know did not work directly for or even have respect for Adam and went there because the company was making a difference in the lives of our members... there are an incredible amount of smart, driven, and totally respectable people that work there that have been cruelly taken advantage of and didn’t know the extent of his lies until it came to light for everyone.
Can confirm. If you blame anyone, it’s management the more senior you go up
How many SDE's got laid off?
good question, how many of them are engineering overall? are these in the bay area or somewhere else? crazy numbers .... it makes my job search more competitive.... first Uber and now these guys .... just my luck :((((
Since WeWork is not a technology company, I don't know how many SDEs were let go. That answer probably isn't zero though, but I have no idea what they actually did.
