https://www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2019/11/1/20943318/google-fitbit-acquisition-fitness-tracker-announcement I'm hoping for a fruitful acquisition! Welcome
What will we do in 2 years? - sell Fitbit to China for 200M - release assistant-powered Fitbit Pixel messaging hub - just let it die
ah, the classic adding another one at https://killedbygoogle.com/ strategy
Don't need to sell to China. They've already long since copied Fitbit and are probably selling it all over Alibaba and AliExpress by now
Most of the talented people at Fitbit are long gone. So what you’re getting is 3rd rate engineers for the most part. But overall I’m happy because I do want Fitbit to succeed.
They still have decent designers and hardware engineers.
Will Fitbit employees get a salary raise?
Another hardware company gone to die 😔
Is Fitbit hiring?
Pretty sure they still have to interview
Google interviews all Fitbit employees upon acquisition and those who don't meet the Google hiring bar are kicked out.
No way they aren't going to be interviewed again.
This is not necessarily a good news for Fitbit employees unless the business is struggling to survive. Other than likely reorg and directional changes, FAANG could be soul-sucking for some people.
It was only 2B. I mean Microsoft has written down much more before😆 But srsly, health gadgets are going to be huge. I hope Microsoft buys whoop.
I doubt they will be huge. They are fun for about a week, then you kind of know your patterns. I hardly know if anyone who uses it anymore.
Things change almost every month. What are you saying "get to know your patterns".
