I have accounts with Wells Fargo and recently read this article on the NYT about Wells Fargo employees still being pressured to squeeze money out of clients. Is this just typical bank branch culture or is this just Wells Fargo in particular? Thinking of moving my main bank account to Bank of America is it any better? https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/09/business/wells-fargo-sales-culture.html
Wells and BoA are terrible. Just use a credit union, I thought everyone already did this.
Ally Bank is the best out there if you don't need a physical branch location. I like Wells Fargo for the cashless ATM, everything else is better with Ally for me.
Marcus by Goldman Sachs for savings
Wells Fargo has some of the cheapest fees of many banks and credit unions. However their website is a bit limited. I like the b of a web site and app better and use their cards.
Internally the culture is one of security and governance.
Please elaborate
BOA is no better. Charles Schwab, Ally, or Fidelity are all good alternatives, especially if you already have investment accounts with any of them.
They are exactly the same, I’ve worked at both

I recently signed up for a Wells Fargo account and everything is so pushy. Every page you navigate to you’re greeted with another “offer” for another account. It’s not even subtle.
