Wework Interview - Finance Strategic Projects
Hi guys - I have interview with Finance strategic projects department within Wework. Are there any tips or guidance throughout the interview process ? Any experiences that anyone would like to share ?
Keep in mind that all I’m about to say is my personal opinion the company based off of past experiences working with them. I manage a private equity fund that was approached by WeWork in 2015 when they were going through their Series-F funding rounds. After reviewing their finances, and the overall culture of the company I declined to invest. That’s is something that I rarely do to pre-IPO companies. The reason I did was because their finances made absolutely no sense. I don’t know if you read the articles that came out about a month ago in regards to Adam (one of the founders) giving himself personal loans from the company, but that was one of the things our analysts detected. The fact that they disrespected the corporate veil to an extent that WeWork was basically Adam’s personal bank account really scared us away. They are a company that is scaling rapidly, but I don’t think their culture will work with scale. Again, this is all based on my personal experience, and things may have really changed. Regardless, good luck with your interviews!
A friend of mine mentioned they asked him why WeWork and that across all his interview it was a big focus of them to ask that. I guess they want to know why someone coming from a BB would be interested in them aside from comp perspective
