Phone screen with recruiter or a tech screen? Brag up projects you did on side and are in a GitHub.

The first one is the hardest.. hang in there. Keep practicing both projects and interview questions.

4.0GPA doesn’t mean you are the smartest. Forget the part of you being in top 1% it will Make u more depressed than act as a motivator since you seem to use the two factors mentioned In Your post as solid reasons why you should have a job. A lot of things are not taught in school but you learn at work.. How do you rate your internship learning experience? Did your team like you there? What feedback you received? I would say don’t lose hope nor become sad but focus on on your goals and continue learning.

Go to fullstack academy and you will be set in terms of finding your first FT job. Lots of good companies hire directly from there because they have a good vetting process. If you don't have one near you, try a similar group that doesn't just accept anyone. These programs feed directly into your first FT job with a decent salary that will be a springboard for your next role. Good luck

Get over the fact that you graduated top 1%. It means nothing, especially from a "small midwest school." Once you're able to get over that, put in the work needed to learn how to code better. Work on your own projects to learn and prepare for interviews.

If you write in your career communications like you write on Blind, then your writing is something you should work on. First impressions, like cover letters, resumes, and correspondence, matter. For an immediate change, work with a career coach or editor that can help you quickly put together compelling copy. over the long-term, look at tools like Grammarly or Hemingway as a way to get feedback and tighten up your copy. Worst case, check out some MOOCs for copywriting. Your credentials might be great, but gatekeepers like recruiters rely on more superficial signals, such as clarity of written comms. Good luck!

I must admit English is my 6th language and my writing style sometimes isn’t the best, but thank you for your feedback I will work on that as well.

That's five more languages than I can write in!

Leetcode and networking. Don’t underestimate your current network. It could be life changing to get you interview

Get in contact with recruiters on LinkedIn. They are the ones who will help you move fast and land good opportunities. Be humble, stop thinking about that you were the best and also stop thinking like a loser. Fate also plays its card. Keep practicing and you'll strike soon
