What are Sr Dir salaries for Eng, PM, and Design?

I believe it’s about $300-$500k base with 40% bonus at Adobe. What about Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft (and others)?

Senior director means radically different things at some of these companies. So the comp is also radically different. A Sr director at Google makes well over $1m while a Sr director at MS makes $600k. Different jobs

I dont know about all the roles, and I assume that there is a great variation between them (I assume marketing and hr directors make significantly less, but still a sizable amount), but it is not only true for eng directors

Hell, there’s even massive variance just at Microsoft. Some orgs give Director title at 65, some at 68. Huge comp difference between those two.

Interesting- in fb it can only be one of two levels - l8 or l9

Same at Google. L8 is Director and L9 is Sr Director.

Yes and those are equivalent of Microsoft 68 and 69.

"Sr manager" isn't really a thing. L7 eng makes 500 to 750 typically. Sometimes more.

68 is director at MS. Never seen sr. Director as a title here. Should be close to 1M. Considering 150% target bonus.

I know for a fact there are 65s that have Director title and 66s that have Sr. Director title.

Every org determines their own standard for title to level mapping, except for standard titles, which Director isn’t.

I was specifically curious about base. And why does YOE matter when talking about a senior role? The title means the person has been determined to have requisite experience or expertise

    • You’re going to need to comply. ☝🏻

Yeah, but you're basically asking for a matrix of comp data in one thread--and that is a lot of work. You can try searching and compiling this on your own.

And if you don't understand why listing your own TC/YOE is critical...
