What are good tech companies to join in NYC?
What are good tech companies to join in NYC, both from culture and TC perspective? Of course Facebook and Google, maybe Spotify. What else would you recommend?
Blomberg . good money. Don't know about culture. Extreme openness can be a pain. I didn't like that anyone can look up when I am logged in or away from the terminal.

Hell No, I am not a fan of Bloomberg. BB is not in the same league as any of the above + Google/FB
Bloomberg is good, but it depends on the team.
Bloomberg TC tapers down to 275-300 levels, very few people cross it. Bloomberg has no growth pattern. Most are SSEs , there is no growth path beyond that. And last but not the least, it’s still Fintech. You are still a “Developer” - far from “Business”. The shiny aquariums create a feel-good. But it’s not that good . Not saying it’s bad, but just not that good
I agree that Bloomberg comp is lower than Facebook/Google. It’s true you don’t have a title beyond SSE, but I don’t think it’s an issue. Don’t agree about developer-business distinction. The profit center for Bloomberg is software. They understand it. I haven’t seen anything to indicate otherwise.
The distinction is still there, it’s much subtler and better than the banks which absolutely suck. But it’s still there. In any case some teams are good for sure. Good for you if you are in one of them
