Looking for perspectives across different products/teams to work for at Microsoft. Specifically... Location: Seattle Role: Program/Product Manager However, I am interested in other locations and professions as well.
Teams
As a product manager, you should look for a newish end-user product if you don’t want to be involved in the 10th redesign of the same old 3 most visible features. Aside from Teams, I’d consider Power BI.
How is Microsoft Research?
Thanks everyone for your recommendations!
What about Surface? Any comments on that team?
Old thread but anyone can comment on what’s going on now in 2019? Any perspectives on Minecraft, Xbox, and azure teams ?
Minecraft: eh. The game seems to be finished? I don’t have any knowledge of what it’s like working in Mojang. As far as I know, it’s treated independently like LinkedIn. Xbox and Azure will typically overwork you, but that will very from team to team. Azure on call is awful. In general there are much better parts of the company for WLB. Azure has great job security though.
Thanks good to know, just to be sure you’re referring to a program management role on these teams right ? Would Xbox and azure have a better career path as growth areas ? Which teams would you suggest for better WLB that would have better prospects but wouldn’t be writing user guides all day for example Thanks
Thanks for the input. You’re speaking from a program manager perspective right? Are career prospects better for Xbox and azure teams though? Also Which teams would you recommend for a better WLB but also not writing user guides all day ?

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
