What are the different types of machine learning models used?

As a product marketer, I’m always interested in hearing directly from engineers, especially data scientists. What are some of the more popular machine learning models (like Keras) that you guys use? And what are the use cases?

Keras not a ML model

This is just one sign every-fucking-one attempts to become a machine learning expert. AI-academy-heads everywhere. Get the fuck out. Out!

And that’s why marketing types like me would like to learn the proper taxonomy. I see a lot of marketing bullshit out there, so would like to do it right. What is Keras then, if not a model? List the ML models you use and the use cases for them. And no, I don’t want to go read a blog post. I’d like to hear from real users

What’s in it for us?

You no longer get told by your clueless management to go build an AI enabled machine learning data science application.

Go effing learn it here: https://developers.google.com/machine-learning/crash-course/

There’s this new thing called neural networks. Not many people knows about it

Was this sarcastic? I can't tell. I studied neural network 10 years ago.

Lol very much sarcasm

just google machine learning and click on the search results from stanford

Search for deep neural nets, decision trees, linear/logistic regression, k nearest neighbours, graphical models.

Learn the fucking math and you'll know when to use what, don't just memorize models to blindly chuck at problems. It's not an Excel spreadsheet

"I don't want to read or learn cuz I want to hear directly from real users". sounds like you are just lazy.

More like I have already read a ton of blog posts and I have gotten confused more than I originally was. Everyone claims to be doing machine learning and artificial intelligence

Read Intro to Statistical Learning (the PDF is online for free) and you'll be in a good starting position. Don't just learn a bunch of models and memorize use cases. It's a math-based pursuit above all else
