My parents will be visiting Bay Area soon for 1-2 months stay. I am looking for temporary phone line options for them, just for emergency communication. Adding them to my existing line is not the best option. Should I just get a family plan with 2 lines from AT&T or Verizon; or are there more economical solutions, as they won’t need much data to use? Thanks.
Lycamobile , metropcs, cricket wireless, h2o
Project Fi. You can get multiple data sims. Then just use WhatsApp.
Red Pocket, Mint Mobile. Tello is best if you have Sprint phone lying around. I can refer you to Tello if interested.
Lycamobile
Usmobile
Lycamobile- add $10 dollars credit and use it for months. I believe, it is 2 cents per minute of talk time. Data is not included though
If you are a Comcast Xfinity internet customer ,looking into Xfinity mobile. They give you unlimited talk text for free but data is 12$ per gig. Other option is mint, ultra mobile and lyca mobile but network may be shitty. Xfinity uses their internet modems whenever availablr and overall was very happy with call quality
AT&T
Freedompop is only 10 bucks per month. It gives you connectivity and a few texts and minutes for calling
StraightTalk
Do they have physical stores to get the sim loaded on unlocked iPhones? If it’s an online service provider, how reliable their network and customer service are?
I see Walmart carries this. Will check out. Any idea how good is their coverage? I hope it’s not as bad as T-mobile, but as par AT&T or Verizon.
