What are the top firms for designers? Is it same as eng?
Would the best firms for eng generally also translate to being the best firms for designers too? I know at FB, eng is treated as first class but designers are also pretty important and get paid well + get challenging projects + learn from other high caliber designers. Would it be also fair to assume firms like below are great for designers too? Any others I’m missing? For designers, I’d say the tier is Airbnb / Apple at the top in terms of prestige. Spotify would also make the list. Tableau, Microsoft, Amazon aren’t really as highly regarded as others... some key startups are missing from this list (ex. Robinhood)

Ehhhh ymmv for design at Spotify. Not a designer but have heard enough of them complain about lack of defined career progression and dealing with product and eng politics where design is usually given the backseat to both.
