In Bloomberg, no one gets PIPd or fired, so no one has to work under the pressure getting put on dev list or whatever out of nowhere.
Facebook, Amazon, and Netflix have extremely cutthroat cultures. Uber has a hiring freeze and is firing people? Microsoft pay for industry hires is lower than that of Bloomberg. Unsure about job security at Lyft and Airbnb, though these two definitely do not seem as cutthroat as FAN.
Job security is the only valid point you are making and I already agreed with it.
Don’t compare starting pay - it’s just an initial carrot to get talent, the rate of increase matters. Apart from MS, rate of TC increase will be lesser at Bloomberg than any of the names above “in general”. As far as prestige is concerned, above have a better brand name as well
