I was watching his speech and found his arguments pretty valid (assume his argument about other countries have their own tariffs for American products). Thoughts?
I would trust the economic experts over trump, BUT I have read their opinion. So....I have no idea
It’s about time we did something.
So bad.
Let them fight
Trump is a cancer not just on the USA, but the world.
we are on the verge of entering a new era where productivity gonna be multiplied by AI technologies, and now he starts a trade war which essentially back stabs the progress of human civilization. No I am absolutely not agreeing with him. From a political standpoint, either US or China comes ahead as the winner of the trade war, an unprecedented super power will emerge and it’s likely to be bad for everyone. Plus he isn’t even sure that US gonna win this time, freaking stupidly dangerous move that could cost everyone. Investment perspective just lost 4k in one day, holy guacamole. Technology wise, leetcode and 200k+ salary will be gone. Economy isn’t gonna be doing as well.
Fox News anchors better get working to reverse the policy
While Chinese are getting stronger and stronger everyday, American are wasting time hating their president and try to hold back every action from the president.
Because the President is fucking up the economy which prevents us from competing. China getting stronger is not a problem.
Do you even own stocks Snapchat guy? Values are dropping like a stone because of the stupid tariffs. It’s really spooked the market
Trade wars are idiotic, if China wants to subsidize exports to the US we should take the free lunch and let Chinese taxpayers cover the cost.
Lol. You got it wrong bud, there are crazy high taxes on American goods in China. How is it fair that Chinese companies can fairly compete in the US market, but US companies can not compete in the Chinese market?
If you understood economics you would realize that is equivalent to a transfer of wealth from the Chinese taxpayers to American consumers. Those import taxes raise prices in China resulting in a lowered standard of living in China. The reality is everything high quality is just fucking expensive in China as a result. Chinese people wind up overpaying for everything, and the overpayment goes eventually is used to fund the production of goods sold in the US. So the goods they export to Americans wind up being sold for peanuts. American consumers basically get a free lunch. It's not hurting the American economy, which is currently at full employment--so nobody who wants to work is actually out of a job, they are just getting cheaper stuff courtesy of Chinese tax payers. But your simplistic and flawed "they took our jobs!" narrative plays better with uneducated and financially illiterate people. Feel free to brag that the destruction of the country will likely continue getting votes, because it will. At least for awhile. The economics are inevitable. Sound bite or no it will drive the US economy into a recession. People will lose their jobs and their homes. At some point they will understand that the policy is a disaster. Unfortunately probably not until after the fact, but don't say you weren't warned.
