I have always been intrigued as to the protocol that is in place to get the sites back up.
When I was an SDE at Amazon, everyone was hands on deck even at 3 am and there was always a blame game that ensued
- Sony RorschachMost of the employees open up LinkedIn/jobvite etc and frantically start uploading resume. All the resumes contain link to a heavily forked PHP repo which they claim to be a contributor of.
- I turned down Facebook based on this very question which I asked:
Q. So who owns the product and signs off on the spec?
(Read: who is responsible for product success)
A. Each individual engineer. We’re engineer driven.
(Read: Zuckerberg is irresponsible and must think engineers are scapegoats for poor management)
Fast forward 9 months to see: Zuckerberg drooling on himself in front of Senator Scalia who has a Comp science degree and reveals Zuck to be the neophyte he really is.
- I don’t know but people like me who turned down Facebook smile on the inside.
