What makes Netflix a FANG?

Seriously though. What is it that makes Netflix be considered a FANG?
Is it the pay? The working culture? The innovation (really?)? Free food/perks?

I barely see posts talking about interviews and salaries for netflix.

When i look at google, amazon, and facebook (and even microsoft and apple) I see big companies with their hands all over the place, fast paced innovation, 50k + employees world wide, lots of career opportunities and growth.

I never heard anything about netflix here in blind.
It is a genuine question. I have nothing against netflix. I just want to know what makes it a fang.

TC: pretty damn low, but I live in paradise and don’t complain. 🏝🏝🏝

I have worked for Facebook and Netflix and also got offers from amazon and apple. I’ll have to say I got the highest total Comp from Netflix hands down

Since u worked for both F & N, which do u think is better overall? (Work & comp wise). If u switched to N, why?

It should be GAM. Apple, Facebook and Netflix will die in next decade as they have very narrow moat.

Why Apple? Facebook is already dead, but I can't see Apple going away any time soon.

Trust me. Ask people who have moved from Apple to Samsung or Pixel. Tim has announced to stop publishing iPhone unit sales and they are using G's cloud. Buffet is wrong big time attributing high moat to Apple because of IPhones. The tipping point is just around the corner for Apple, Netflix and Facebook and together they will crash the market. Google, Amazon and Microsoft will survive.

I think Apple revealed they use Google Cloud Storage (along with other storage) in iCloud, I think your facts are overblown

I agree that IBM does not have all their eggs into one basket and their moat is better than Apple who's heavily dependent on hope that customers will upgrade only to new iPhone and not to Pixel or Samsung. That's not moat. There's so many Google, Microsoft and Amazon products much ahead of their competition.

“FAANG is an acronym for the market's five most popular and best-performing tech stocks, namely Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Alphabet’s Google. “

    Just google it seriously.

I know. I had googled it. But people here keep talking about applying to fang like if they were the top companies. I was looking to get some insight on what would make netflix be at the same position than the rest of faangs, aside from stock

And your point is the Netflix is in the same league as Google and Apple for innovation?

Whether Netflix will get there is still up in the air, but it has done enough innovation to prove you wrong.

Wait now we are onto enough? Disrupting hollywood and what was the other thing?

Does each Netflix original count as innovation?

Tableau I don't have time to deal with your bullshit. Netflix has done way more innovation than Tableau, deal with it

The acronym has been used (at least in finance for the past few years) to refer to the highest valuation, fastest growing, new age tech companies specifically. Has not been about popularity so much as financial potential and interest
