What makes straight men ghost from an ongoing conversation ?
I’m flabbergasted by the number of heterosexual men ( in NY where I am ) that I’ve matched with on online dating platforms who ghost .... just like that from an ongoing conversation ... no arguments no conflicts and yet they just disappear... doesn’t matter if we’ve been chatting for a few days, weeks or even month ... no matter the age, career , race etc. It’s not like I wasn’t ready to meet up with them ... one just ghosted the day we were supposed to meet ... another just ghosted ( we have been in touch for 2 months ) after flirting a whole day on text .... Please no trolling .... I genuinely want know what is it that makes straight men ghost just like that ... or is it something I’m doing because it’s happen way too often to me .... it’s disheartening.... it’s either ghosters or stalkers 😒 PS - i realize this make not just be a “straight man” thing and women, gay men , gay women may be doing it too ... but I’m a straight woman and I’ve only dated straight men ... so I’m asking for myself , not for a friend ...
They are probably talking to 10+ other women and have decided to ghost you because other conversations have developed into dates.

I explain this below. He probably had a conversation start with a 9 or a 10, and didn’t want to miss out on that one. I can chat a hundred 5s but I’ll cancel on pretty much anyone for a 10. Even like an hour before. That 10 has a hundred guys trying to woo her, so if she wants to grab drinks with me, goddammit she’ll get those drinks
Found a girl I like more. Girls do this to me, I do it to them: online dating is fickle. If you don’t meet within 3 days of chatting, it isn’t going anywhere

A week is too much. A only 10 matches per day, that’s like 70 new girls to compete with. Statistically a few them are going to be better
Also depends on when you start chatting during the week: you need to optimize it for meeting up. If we start chatting on a Friday afternoon, I would already have someone lined up for that evening so I’ll tell you to wait till next week by which time it’ll just fall apart. Unless you’re a 10, in which case I’ll cancel on the other one and take you out that day
I’m not taking about men I just started chatting a few hours ago ... I mean men I’ve been chatting for at least a few days and they had been very regular with the conversation until they ghosted ...
If it doesn’t develop into a meet-up within a few days, I start to doubt this person I’m chatting with is even real or interested in meeting up
Why use dating apps when you can date me here for free? PM if interested, if you are decent enough I won’t ghost ☺️

I have the same complaints about womens. One girl ghosted me an hour before meeting. Another one ghosted me after telling me She cant wait for 2nd date. Lol
It's definitely not a male thing. Women do this ALL the time . In short, ppl suck and have a very short attention span on these apps where there's always someone new to swipe on.

I have seen people(friends guys or girls) ghosting me even when I invite them for lunch or if I ask them to go to cinema etc. just plain no reply or change of topic. I understand people can have urgent change of situation but a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ is just basic decency.
Exactly ... and if they said yes before and can’t make it now why the hell don’t they inform ... I only get to know when I follow up “are we still on ?” , “when are you coming ?” Etc etc
It’s a millenial thing. A lot of people have very short attention spans and they simply forget about you.
