How does that matter?
August, because Windows are a great way to block August of wind.
July or January is when most new headcount comes online. Company shuts down for most of July and August so that's a good time to ramp up. Bonuses are pro-rated so doesn't matter comp wise. If moving to Seattle area, may be able to get a better deal on rent in winter vs August/September when everyone moves here
Thanks for the info. Didn't know bonuses are prorated. Heard that there is a 800$ yearly allowance for Fitness related activities, does that need an employee to start before a specific start date? Also, when is the espp enrollment period?
Good point. Stayfit is only $400 if join past a certain point in the year. Has to be spent in the calendar year. HSA credit is also reduced for starting past a certain point. ESPP enrollment is quarterly and contributions are per pay period so maybe join before the start of a quarter but probably not worth optimizing for
I was about to post the same question, thank you OP! Also, what time of day should I join ?
5:55 AM 👻
Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s 7:00am, which is way too early.
Having 28 days
I can tell you when not to join. April 1 -July 1.
Jan-Dec
Never.. join FNG instead.
Why? True that FNG > M but that is true for almost all companies. Anything specific to avoid or be careful about when at M?
