What out of pocket costs would you reject, even if employer promised reimbursement?

Just curious how much you'd be willing to spend before you decided the company should pay for the upfront cost. Context: employer asked me to fly somewhere and stay a week, but the grand total if I bought flight and cheapest available hotel would still put me out 1.5 paychecks. Also reimbursement wouldn't come for at least a month.

None. I want all the reimbursements. My emergency fund is large enough to support myself for quite a few months. Cash back! Travel rewards! Itโ€™s the best. Only thing I might reject is if the company is a sketchy seed stage startup.

Yeah if you know theyโ€™re going to pay you back , this is the best option... free points :) good chance to open up a new credit card with a spend and get bonus , to maximize rewards !

$1,500 would be pushing it.

As long as reimbursement process is painless, no limit.
