Ameritrade and thinkorswim only.

But each platform is good at one or two things. I heard Schwab is the best for serious investors? Because support is 24/7 and guys are “knowledgeable”? Thoughts on that?

Ameritrade and thats it. At least for reaearch and indicators on options. U can trade somewhere else with lower fees though.

Schwab's support is great. Needed it a couple times already. Interface is nice too, fees not too high and plenty of transaction-fee-free ETFs. Or interactive brokers for accounts over $100k for cheapest margin / fees.

Vanguard

Literally the worst user interface out there. Lookls like it's developed by a group of 2nd year college students in a waterfall process in php3.

Who cares, Vanguard is the best deal. You don’t need a robo advisor, just buy VTSAX.

Vanguard + M1Finance. Those roboinvestors such as wealthfront and betterment will eat your capital through high fees.

Why vanguard and not just m1?

Microsoft maximsft Jul 18, 2018

Because Vanguard has been around for decades, has trillions of dollars under managent, and as a result will likely still exist in 50 years, whereas all the various roboadvisors/tech startup-y "revolutionary new finance platforms" could run out of seed money and go belly up at a moment's notice and be a huge PITA to sort out tax wise. An often-unmentioned downside of automated tax loss harvesting is that your tax forms will be literally hundreds of pages long and filled with micro sells, and the concept hasn't been around enough to provide data that proves it is worth the .5-2% fee they charge IMO if you're with MSFT and getting your stock awards/ESPP managed by fidelity, you may as well stay there just so you have only one company to deal with. The ER's are the same or better than Schwab/Vanguard and there's no commission on most things.
