I have an exit interview with HR today on my last day and my boss have told me to talk to HR candidly. Ther real reason I am leaving is due to no appreciation for my work and poor management by my ex manager. That year actually lot of good engineer left his team and we also informed this in survey but np leader cared looks like. Should I just say leaving for good opportunity or should I hint the reason in some way ? What's a good idea to do while leaving the company.
Be genuine. Be real. Be concise. Donât shout or throw your frustration on HR. Prepare list of things you liked and what needs to be changed. If HR is good, then there may be some action. Donât burn the bridge but try something good for the company. As a manager, when i talk to my HR at my current company, they say they are really open for good details on exit interview and making some changes.
Don't do anything but keep your mouth shut on your thoughts, be professional and only answer what's necessary. You don't want them having anything that they can misconstrue to come back to haunt you. They will not take your feedback, don't give it to them , please.
I may be in similar position soon. My manager promised promotion for three years following âexceed expectationâ appraisal. Now Iâm on my way out because I canât take lower any longer. So, I should keep quiet and go? There may be opportunity to come back in few years at a higher level. They are good at rehiring people. What do you advice?

Agree. If you are polite and professional, most HR listens. If they hear similar feedback, they may take action. So best thing is, share all your points in nice manner. Focus on improvement instead just complaining.
If it's a bad manager, tell them but do it professionally. If HR does nothing, it will be at least a blemish on the manager's record. Your complaint alone won't do much, but if they start adding up...
Donât waste your time. Keep it professional and curt. You are not legally obliged to give one. Refuse politely if you can.
I'd only tell them I leave because of more money. It's the only thing they understand.
There is no upside to providing an honest exit interview.
It is rare, but at least you can try something. Even if in 1 out of 10 cases it works, it is worth to give a try. My experience- 3 or 4 people gave similar feedback about 1 person in exit interview and HR really took action. If those 3 or 4 people would not have told anything, then nothing would have happened.

Keep in mind that HR's role is to avoid you suing them. They are looking for opportunities to protect themselves with information from you .
