What to do about google host matching Fall 2019 intern

I'm open to working anywhere in any location and have put that in my questionnaire. Also did not request machine learning (read on blind that removing it would help). I have 2 previous development internships and I go to a target school. Entered host matching 2 weeks ago with strong interviews and still nothing. I asked my recruiter today and she said there were more interns than open projects :/

Should I message random Engineering managers on linkedin and ask if they have an opening? Is anyone here looking for interns?

Yes, do that. Just tell them you were approved on Blind

  • Fill your entire questionaire, you should write a one page essay for both questions.

Stuff I learned in previous internships and in school. I do have a few projects but they are small in scope and I don't think they are meaningful compared to my internship experience.
