A ton of decisions in the company seem to be heading towards either a bad product that is non-competitive with Illumina or oxford nanopore, or more likely no product at all. This happened to me at Tubemogul. In my experience if the management doesn’t care about a product it’s best to let it fail. Fighting the management on that will lead to career issues. Your best bet is to transfer to another product.
It's time to evaluate your organization by the criteria defined in the CIMM: https://turing.cs.hbg.psu.edu/comp413/cimm.pdf
You either align with management, offer a compelling reason they hadn’t considered, or start your own company and do it the way you want to.
